Mr. Rider is a member of the firm whose principal areas of interest are corporate, labor, banking, municipal, trusts and estates, and health care law. Mr. Rider serves as counsel to several multi-employer trust funds and tax qualified charitable organizations and banks. He has acted as both Town Attorney to the Town of Newburgh (1989-93) and Corporation Counsel to the City of Newburgh (2002-03).
Attorney Rider represents several publicly held corporations, hospitals, banks and financial institutions. He is a frequent lecturer in the areas of fringe benefit law, administrative techniques and fiduciary responsibilities and standards for professional associations for several national brokerage, underwriting, and insurance firms. Mr. Rider is a graduate of Cornell University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in 1962. He received his Law Degree from Yale Law School in 1965. For the period of 1965-66 he served as First Lieutenant, Intelligence, in the U.S. Army in Southeast Asia.
Attorney Rider is admitted to practice in all courts of record in New York State, Southern District Federal Courts, the U.S. Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association, is a past President of the Orange County Bar Association (1985-87), and served as an appointee to the Ninth Judicial District Grievance Committee (1981-88).
